Lets be honest, retiring assets is a pain.

Here at Humanize IT we realize that convincing your client to throw away assets can be a real struggle. We also know that the never ending pile of assets that need to be securely disposed of is a struggle as well. Darn Audit Trails...

That is why we at Humanize IT have partnered with PCs for People to create a smooth process for RECYCLING assets safely and securely.

Now your client isn't throwing a good asset away. They are donating it to people in need.

Conversation 1:

Tech: "We need to retire this asset, it has reached End of Life"
Client: "But it is still good, we can use it!"
Tech: "It will ultimately cause more problems...yada yada yada"

Conversation 2:
Tech: "We need to recycle this asset, it has reached End of Life for business"
Client: "But it is still good, we can use it!"
Tech: "Exactly, which is why we will donate it to PCs for people, and replace it with an up to date business class PC"

Help business give back to people, they are more than willing to help.

So how do you get started?

Find aging assets

There are two ways to list aging assets in Humanize IT.

1. Create a smart rule to define what you consider End of Life assets.

Using this method you simply go Setup->Smart Assessments and define your query. This allows you to specifically define what kind of asset to retire. You can grab our PCs for People service card that will have all the instructions on it and will line up all assets with SN that will be retired.

As a bonus, this method will already have all the documentation in it for your client to read and approve in a proposal.

2. Define Asset Life under assets.

Using this method assumes all assets have an install date in their field.

Then you just go to the budget module and select the asset type you want to retire.

Next click export to proposal in the uppper right corner and you will have a list for your client to approve to recycle.
